Founded in 2023, OID was created to address the needs of the growing Bangladeshi/South Asian/immigrant community of Indiana.
What We Do
Language Access
We promote Bangla language access in the community as well as English language learning services.
Cultural Education and Outreach
We foster appreciation for Bangladeshi-American culture by hosting cultural events and representing Bangladesh in international programs in Indiana.
Community Resources and Integration
We utilize an extensive resource list with referrals to our partners to help clients integrate into their communities and become self-sufficient.
Our Projects
Language Access:
- Provided translated documents for Marion County Prosecutor’s Office
- Advocates for Bangla language materials in government and private sectors to improve language access to the community
Cultural Education & Outreach:
- Represented Bangladesh for the first time in the Indy 500 Parade
- Hosted Bangladeshi delegation for Indiana Soybean Alliance
- Hosted Ekushe February / International Mother Language Day program
